Week 335 - Vivitar IC 101 Panorama

Vivitar IC 101
This is one of the many ultra cheap "panoramic" cameras that produce wide format images by masking down the film plane. Many of the cameras are switchable between normal and panoramic, but this one is panoramic only. Week 335 starts at the end of my trip to Bilbao, so this one will be coming on the trip too.

Tulips @ Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
Another piece by Jeff Koons. The expired film seems to have coped reasonably well with the bright colours.

Puppy @ Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
Jeff Koon's giant puppy made out of flowers, now on permanent display outside the Guggenheim.

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
The camera performed well on my trip to Bilbao, this is a pair of shots of the Guggenheim Museum.

Week 334 - Canon Ixus II

Canon IXUS II
This neat little APS cameras was 50p in a car boot sale. I already have one which I bought from a charity shop for £2, but that one was dead when I got it home. This one seems to work, so I'll be taking it with me on a trip to Bilbao, loaded with expired Agfa ISO 200 colour negative film.

Coughton Court Sculpture
A piece of sculpture in the garden at Coughton Court.

bunting
This was shot at around f8 and with the focus set to around 10 feet, so I would have expected the image to be sharper than this.

St. Andrew's Church Farnham
The Sport was easy enough to use, though the pictures are not very sharp. The colour cast is due to cross-processing slide film in negative chemistry.

Week 333 - Adox Sport

Adox Sport
The Adox Sport is a folding roll film camera taking eight exposures on a roll of 120 film. The Sport name was used for many years by Adox, I think this is one of the pre-war models. I've loaded it with expired Fuji Velvia slide film.

Brass Bands in Tudor Square
Another shot from the mass brass band performance.

reflected self-portrait with Nikon FM2 camera and crown
I couldn't resist the opportunity to try on this crown at Harwick Hall. This was a dimly lit interior, and even using 1/30th sec at f1.8 it is rather underexposed.

Brass Bands in Tudor Square
I used a roll of expired Ilford HP5+ black and white negative film this week. Most of the photos were taken in Tudor Square, Sheffield, where around 120 brass musicians were playing.

Week 332 - Nikon FM2

Nikon FM2
The FM2 is a well built 35mm SLR which was produced from 1982-2001. It has shutter speeds up to 1/4000th sec, and although it has a built in coupled exposure meter, everything apart from this still functions without a battery, which could be very useful.

photo from Week 331 - Kodak Brownie Vecta

cement silo
Even though the film is only just expired, there is already evidence of offsetting of the backing paper markings, particularly in the sky at the top left. The film is Efke 100.

Paradise Sqaure
Another Sheffield scene, this time Paradise Square on a Sunday. During the week the atmosphere of this area is ruined, as it becomes a car park.

photo from Week 331 - Kodak Brownie Vecta

Holy Trinity
The Vecta takes "full frame" 127 negatives, so you only get 8 to a roll, with film at around £10 a roll, you need to think carefully about taking each shot. This is Holy Trinity Church in Sheffield.

Week 331 - Kodak Brownie Vecta

Kodak Brownie Vecta
This is basically an eye level box camera, it takes 127 film, which is now available again having more or less died out in 2012. This is a very simple camera, with fixed focus, fixed aperture and single shutter speed. It has double exposure prevention, but that is the only feature above the bare bones. I've loaded it with a roll of Efke 100 black and white film.

photo from week 330 - Gakken Pinhole

Park Hill Flats
I managed to grossly overexpose all the pinhole shots that I took, which was rather disappointing. This one was taken on World Pinhole Photography Day, Sunday 24th April.

Fountains Abbey
This one was taken using the biconvex plastic lens which is supplied as an alternative to the pinhole. The results are as you would expect!

Week 330 - Gakken Pinhole

Gakken Pinhole Camera
This week includes "World Pinhole Photography Day" (WPPD) which falls on the last Sunday of April each year, so I decided this was a good time to load up this camera, which I got from a charity shop a couple of years ago. As well as the pinhole, this version also has a plastic bi-convex lens, two apertures and a spring loaded shutter for short exposures.
